Grease Fire In the First Due

The rescue and chief was sent to the Burger King on Rt.315 this morning for the reported AFA. Chief B was first arriving and reported a smoke condition in the structure and a problem with one of the fryers. Rescue arrived and investigated to find a grease fire that was well contained by the ANSUL system. R166 and R112 checked the interior for extension while L148 checked the roof area. All checks turned up negative. A fan was then placed in service to clear the smoke from the structure. All companies cleared after 45 minutes.

Vehicle Fire

The rescue,brush,and chief responded to commerce road for the reported vehicle fire in the woods. The rescue arrived to find one vehicle in the wooded area self extinguished. The rescue investigated and used a water can exinguisher to hit some hot spots on the vehicle and wet down the brush around the vehicle. All units cleared after 30 minutes.

Rescue Due on 128 Box

The rescue and chief responded to Susqehanna Ave. in district 128 for the reported fire in a commercial building. E128 was first arriving and confirmed a working fire on scene. E191 had the water supply and T184 had primary truck duties. The rescue assumed the role of the fast team and handled the utilities. Rescue cleared after two hours.

Rescue Works Confinement

The rescue and chief responded to the intersection of Rt.11 and Winter st. fore the reported two car mva with injuries. Rescue arrived and found two occupants confined in the vehicle. The rescue went to work stabilizaing the vehicle, removing the glass, and popping 4 doors. The occupants were extricated and in the hands of EMS within 5 minutes.

Early Morning Vehicle Fire

At 06:30 hours R166 and the chief responded to the Pittston By-pass For the reported vehicle fire. Chief arrived and reported one vehicle fully involved. Rescue arrived and stretched a handline for extinguishment. E165 was requested to the scene for water supply due to it being a fuel fed fire. After extinguishment crews completed overhaul of the vehicle. All companies returned to service after an hour. Photo courtesy of Troy Pearage from station 112.

Forklift Rollover on the 315

E3 was dispatched to Rt. 315 for the reported wires down. E3 arrived and reported an overturned forklift leaking propane and a pole sheared in half. E3 requested that the rescue and chief be added to the incident. E3 controlled and secured the propane leak. R166 and the chief arrived and assisted the engine with the remaining hazards. Rescue was quickly returned to service. E3 remained on scene and assisted in opening up Rt.315 by cutting a piece of guardrail. The incident was cleared out after 2 1/2 hours.

Afternoon Dwelling Fire

R166, E3 and the chief responded to Wilson St. in Dupont for the reported dwelling fire. R166 arrived on scene and established the primary water supply. The company then went to the rear of the structure to assist crews with overhaul. The fire was knocked down quickly by the first arriving companies. All 166 units returned to service after an hour.

Evening Vehicle Fire

R166, E3, and the chief responded to Wal Mart for the reported vehicle fire. EMS was first arriving and reported a working fire in the engine compartment. A crew from the rescue established an "1.75" hose line while another got the vehicle opened up to complete extinguishment. All units returned to service within 45 minutes.

Rescue Due on 129 Box

R166 and the Deputy Chief responded to Orbedorfor Rd. in Exeter Twp. for the reported working dwelling fire. The rescue arrived on scene and found the fire to be knocked by the first due companies. R166 operated as the fast truck. The rescue was returned to service within 30 minutes.

Rescue Due on 126 Box

The rescue and chief responded to Stephenson St. in Duryea for the reported working building fire with entrapment. L226 was first arriving and reported all victims were out and a working fire on scene. R166 arrived and established the water supply to E126. The rescue then split crews. One crew was sent interior to assist crews with searching, while another got the buidling laddered and opened up. The rescue operated for 3 hours before returning to service.
